For all types of wedding ceremony both the bride and groom must produce the following original documents. (Photocopies are not accepted).
- Full Birth certificates
- Valid 10 year passports with at least three month's or more following your return date to your country of residence
- Certificate of freedom to marry-Single statutory declaration (or Certificate of No Impediment, if you are resident in Scotland or Wales). These documents must be typed, dated and stamped by a registered solicitor, they valid for 3 months therefore you will need to obtain them less than 3 months before you travel. Please note: Name on Declaration must match name on passport.
- If divorced you will need to provide the Decree Absolute with court stamp. If the bride has reverted to her maiden name this must be stated in the Single Statutory Declaration.
- If widowed, you will need to provide original copies of the marriage and death certificates
- If adopted-proof of adoption
- If aged under 18, parental consent is required in the form of a Statutory Declaration stamped and signed by a Solicitor
- If either party has changed name, proof of deed poll
- For Catholic ceremonies in addition to the above both Bride and Groom should produce - Baptism certificates.
- For Anglican ceremonies either the Bride or Groom will need to produce a Baptism certificate
- Irish Nationals require a Freedom Certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ireland
- Copies of witness's passports (front page)
